Junk Science - Undoing The Damage
Not all forensic science ends up being reliable. What was once considered solid evidence of guilt has later been shown to be inconclusive. In the criminal justice world, debunked forensics are called ājunk scienceā. But where does that leave us? Is there a program that reviews old convictions that stemmed from those faulty forensics? Sadly, noā¦ barring an extreme event, convictions from junk science are not reviewed en masse.
